01 / Services
What we actually do
Everything below is carried out on-site. We arrive with the diagnostic kit, the hand tools and the common parts already in the van — most jobs finish in one visit. If a part has to be ordered, you get told the price and the wait before we touch anything.

Brakes & suspension
Pads, discs, drums, fluid, handbrake adjustment, shocks and bushings. Brake work is quoted per axle so you know the number before we start.

Batteries & charging
Load test, alternator and starter checks, terminal cleaning, and a replacement battery fitted on the spot if yours has given up.

Full service & oil change
Engine oil and filter, air and cabin filters, plugs, belts, coolant top-up and a 30-point walk-round with photos of anything that needs watching.

Cooling & overheating
Pressure test, radiator and hose inspection, thermostat and water pump replacement. Overheating is the one callout we ask you to stop driving for.

Pre-purchase inspection
Before you buy a second-hand car, we go with you. Compression, chassis, rust, accident repair, and an honest verdict on whether to walk away.

Roadside & no-start callouts
Won't start, won't move, warning light on the way to work. Call, describe it, and we'll tell you on the phone whether it's a roadside fix or a tow.

Fleet & regular checks
Monthly or quarterly inspections for taxis, delivery vans and small fleets, with a written sheet per vehicle so nothing gets missed between visits.

Tell us the car — make, model, year — and what it's doing. A noise, a light, a smell, a refusal to start. The more specific you are, the more we can bring with us.

We give you a window and a price
You get a realistic arrival time and an honest estimate range before anyone sets off. If it turns out to be something we can't do on-site, we say so on the phone and save you the callout fee.

Step 3
We come to the vehicle
Home compound, office car park, roadside in Kanifing, or the workshop on Kombo Sillah Drive if the job needs a lift. Your choice, based on what the fault turns out to be.

Step 4
You get the old parts and the bill
Nothing is replaced without you agreeing the price first. Parts that come off go back to you in a bag, and the invoice itemises labour and parts separately.
Before you call
If the temperature gauge is climbing, if you can smell fuel, or if there's smoke from under the bonnet — stop driving and call from where you are. Those three are the ones where a short tow beats a long repair.

The phone is answered by a mechanic, not a call centre. If it rings out, we're under a car — leave it a moment and try again, or send a message and we'll come back to you.

Out of hours
Breakdowns don't keep office hours. Sunday and after-hours callouts are taken when someone is free to come out — call and we'll tell you honestly whether we can make it or whether you should use a tow service instead.
Public holidays follow Sunday hours unless you hear otherwise.

A workshop that travels
Auto Mechanics started the way most useful things in Serekunda start — with someone's car failing to start and a neighbour who knew what to do about it. What began as favours for people on Kombo Sillah Drive turned into a van, a set of diagnostic tools, and a phone number that people pass around.
We work on the vehicles people here actually drive: Toyota Corollas and HiAces, Nissan Sunnys, older Mercedes diesels, the Kia and Hyundai saloons that have done a few hundred thousand kilometres and still have plenty left. That means we know the faults that come with the heat, the dust and the stop-start traffic on the Kombo Sillah corridor — cooling systems, belts, batteries that die young, and suspension that takes a beating.
The rule we work to is simple: tell the customer what's wrong, tell them what it costs, and don't replace anything they haven't agreed to. If a repair isn't worth doing on a car of that age, we'll say that too. It's a small market and the only thing that keeps a workshop going is people coming back.
